The jet with the killer good looks, the F-106 Delta Dart was introduced into service in May of 1959, and achieved operational capability with the 498th Fighter Interceptor Squadron at Geiger AFB on October 31, 1959 (Halloween!). Following the F-86D and F-102, the new F-106s took on the mantle of the "Geiger Tigers". The great looking Tiger badge was painted on the tails along with an orange rudder and an orange and black-striped pitot tube. I've had this painting in mind for quite some time and was not totally happy with this study, but will re-visit it again.
